Description

Made from PLA, this bust of Ramesses II — pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt — is based on the colossal fragmented sculpture housed in the British Museum. Carved from a single block of two-colored granite and weighing over 7 tons, the original was recovered from the Ramesseum, the mortuary temple of Ramesses at Thebes, by explorer Giovanni Belzoni in 1816. The bust features the traditional nemes head-dress and cobra diadem, with eyes angled subtly downward to engage the viewer. This monumental piece famously inspired Percy Bysshe Shelley’s poem Ozymandias. Its size makes it easy to display, and precision 3‑D printing delivers crisp detailing and lasting quality.
