Made from PLA, this bust of Cardinal de Richelieu — chief minister to Louis XIII of France — is based on the original sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, now held at the Louvre Museum. Commissioned in 1640 while Bernini was at the height of his fame, the bust portrays Richelieu as a solemn prelate adorned with the Order of the Holy Spirit. Though originally intended as a precursor to a full-length statue, only the bust was completed. Bernini’s masterful treatment of expression and drapery gives the piece a dignified yet lifelike presence. Its size makes it easy to display, and precision 3‑D printing delivers crisp detailing and lasting quality.
